Description
Ulisses is the Sea Telepass.
Ulisses provides a solution to simplify the bureaucratic processes of ports and digitalize the daily census to monitor the entire port area in real-time, while offering a wide range of services to boaters to make their stay unique, creating “ad hoc” experiential packages for smart and sustainable tourism.
Ulisses also addresses the issue of boaters’ difficulties in quickly finding and booking their berth directly at the port, without the need for intermediaries. This avoids the formation of queues of boats and marine traffic, thus preventing pollution from boat engines.
With our user-friendly App, boaters can easily search and book the most suitable berth for their boat in real-time, using their smartphone, without having to wait for hours or days for confirmation. They can also use the port and local services in a smart way, such as booking the best restaurants, excursions, nautical services, renting equipment, stocking up on provisions online, and much more.
The Ulisses platform uses data in various ways to improve port and marina management as well as the experience of boating tourists.
Firstly, Ulisses collects data on bookings and real-time mapping of dock and pier occupancy, allowing marina managers to have a complete overview of occupancy and bookings in real-time. This helps marina managers to plan and optimize boat parking more efficiently, without having to maintain a manual system of dock reservation and occupancy.
Secondly, Ulisses collects data on the mobility of boating tourists, such as travel habits and transport preferences, to create personalized tourist packages. This enables marina managers to tailor their services to the needs of boating tourists, offering customized internal and external services such as bicycle rentals or public transportation. This improvement in the boating tourist experience increases customer loyalty and promotes sustainable and intelligent tourism. For example, the Ulisses platform and app collect information on the dietary habits of tourists, which can be used to promote local and organic products from local markets. Additionally, Ulisses could allow users to place online orders for food and other goods, simplifying the purchasing process. The online pantry feature is a great example of how Ulisses uses data to enhance the tourist experience. With this feature, boaters can order food and drinks for their boat via the app, allowing them to plan their trip more efficiently and have everything they need during their stay in the marina.
Moreover, the Ulisses app could include information on local activities and places to visit, such as restaurants, bars, and shops, which would be of interest to tourists. This data can be used to provide personalized recommendations to visitors, increasing overall customer satisfaction.
Thirdly, Ulisses collects data on climate and the environment, such as data from the Copernicus Climate Change Service, to increase awareness among tourists and stakeholders of the challenges posed by climate change. This allows marina managers to promote awareness and facilitate better decisions for sustainable tourism, optimizing resources to reduce waste and promoting the development of a short and sustainable supply chain.
Fourthly, Ulisses collects data on the internal and external services offered by marinas, such as data on port infrastructure and cargo loading and unloading services. This data is integrated with data on arriving ships to help marina managers plan parking and cargo unloading more efficiently, optimizing the flow of goods through the port and reducing ship waiting times.
Fifth, Ulisses could use machine learning algorithms to analyze maritime traffic data and identify patterns and trends, such as peak traffic times, congested areas, and high-risk accident areas. This data could be used to develop real-time maritime traffic management strategies, such as redistributing arriving ships based on parking availability, implementing ship parking reservation systems, and using weather data to manage the flow of incoming and outgoing ships.
Lastly, Ulisses is an innovative prototype that effectively uses data to improve the efficiency and sustainability of boat parking in ports, reducing waiting times and CO2 emissions, and enhancing the tourist experience with a centralized digital service offering. It also improves the management of maritime traffic and cargo loading and unloading.
