What’s the heart of your pilot in Collab 4 HySust CCI?

The heart of our project is creating 3D models that are not only accessible and affordable but also empower blind and visually impaired individuals to interact meaningfully with art. By integrating Braille and elastic materials, we aim to make these models more tactile and immersive, bridging gaps in accessibility and allowing museums, galleries, and cultural institutions to welcome a broader audience. This project aligns with our belief that everyone should have equal opportunities to experience and connect with art and culture, regardless of physical limitations.

What’s something you’re really proud of achieving so far (with your project inside Collab 4 HySUST CCI)?

We’re especially proud of how we’ve managed to develop a simplified, all-in-one 3D design that combines Braille with flexible textures in a cost-effective way. This breakthrough has enabled us to produce more accessible models without sacrificing quality, making it easier for institutions to use them and for visually impaired users to experience them fully.

Where do you see your project heading next?

Our next goal is to expand our reach, bringing these 3D models to more museums and galleries worldwide. We are also exploring ways to further enhance the tactile quality of our models by incorporating new materials and textures, making each interaction more intuitive and detailed. In fact, we already have a major project lined up where we’ll apply everything we’ve learned so far, allowing us to implement these innovations on a larger scale and refine our approach based on real-world feedback. Long-term, we envision these models becoming a standard accessibility feature in cultural spaces, with a broader range of designs that can represent complex artworks and exhibits.

What do you think is the most valuable thing that the Collab 4 HySUST CCI project has brought to you?

Collab 4 HySUST CCI has offered us invaluable insight and connections within the cultural sector, showing us the best paths to scale our production and distribution. Working closely with our mentor, Vera, and the team from Nova Iskra has been particularly impactful, as their guidance helped us refine our approach and overcome key challenges. Additionally, being part of the Collab community allowed us to exchange ideas and experiences with other project participants, whose perspectives and feedback were essential in shaping our model. The network of professionals and resources provided have not only strengthened our processes but also aligned our work with the real needs of end users, making the journey truly collaborative and meaningful.

From your experience participating in the Collab 4 Hy Sust CCI project, what advice would you give to organizations similar to yours?

For organizations in similar fields, we recommend embracing a collaborative mindset. Programs like Collab 4 HySUST CCI provide valuable opportunities to connect with experts across various disciplines, helping refine your concept and expand your vision. A particularly valuable aspect of the program is the mentorship and pairing process, thoughtfully designed to match each participant’s strengths and growth potential with mentors whose knowledge and experience offer a fresh perspective. This approach, especially in the cultural sector, is key to fostering new ideas and innovative solutions. Having someone who can provide an outside perspective while understanding the unique challenges of the field is incredibly beneficial. Approach each interaction with curiosity and openness, as the shared knowledge within this community can accelerate development and bring new, unexpected ideas to the table
