Futurismo Azores Adventures is a purpose-driven, leading tour operator and DMC in the Azores that focuses on providing sustainable adventure experiences, working directly with clients and with some of the best operators in the world.
Our aim is to showcase the natural beauty and biodiversity of the Azores, while promoting responsible tourism practices that help to preserve the environment and benefit local communities.
We offer a wide range of tours and experiences, including whale watching, swimming with dolphins, bird watching, hiking, kayaking, and more.
We employ 50 persons year-round, including marine-biologists, while also working closely with local communities and conservation organisations to ensure that our activities have a minimal impact on the environment and contribute to the protection of local wildlife. We received several awards for our efforts in this area, as the WTM Global Responsible Tourism Award Winner.
Our clients, nature and adventure enthusiasts from around the world, seek sustainable tourism that benefits the environment and local communities. We provide high-quality, memorable experiences that contribute to natural conservation.
Carlos Picanço, Commercial and Marketing Director, is an experienced professional in the tourism sector. He is a founding member of the WXO – World Experience Organization, a former guest professor at the Universidade dos Açores and currently pursuing a PhD on Tourism
Experiences.
He is currently an Ambassador for Portugal at the Adventure Travel Trade Association and The Transformational Travel Council, where he works closely with industry leaders.
Carlos is being certified in Experience Strategy by one of the leading experience strategy companies in the world and is currently working on a year-long project on Transformational Experience Economy, being taught by Joe Pine, a renowned author and expert in the field.
Our whale watching company has identified these two key digitization initiatives that would enhance the customer experience and increase
operational efficiency, ultimately leading to higher customer satisfaction, repeat business, positive online reviews, referrals, and increased profitability.
The implementation of these initiatives will have a positive impact on our company’s internal operations, client relations, online presence, and product offering.
Both initiatives are scalable (the charts can be improved and integrated with partners websites and mobile apps, p.e., and the photobooth can be replicated in partners stores) and can serve as an example or good practice for other companies in the industry, highlighting our commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction.

The dynamic and interactive charts would play a crucial role to enhance the transformative nature of our whale watching tours and contribute to the preservation of these magnificent creatures.
