The project participant: Community center Krov
Name of the project: Radio PodKrovlje
What’s the heart of your pilot in Collab 4 HySust CCI?
Community Center Krov (Roof) is launching its online radio station, in order to respond to the needs of a wider number of audience who have sent us requests to make Krov’s programs available to people who are not from Belgrade, and are prevented from attending the programs in person. Radio PoDKrovlje will feature diverse regional interdisciplinary content, including radio art, sound art, participatory programs, youth-oriented shows, and live performances.
What’s something you’re really proud of achieving so far?
Fostering collaboration and joint production of music, audio content, and radio shows with other community radio stations and independent cultural centers in the region.
Where do you see your project heading next?
Our aim is to host and provide radio programs and shows from different artistic communities from Balkan. The main goal is to develop a regional radio festival which will serve as a platform to represent and celebrate the work of independent artists across the region, fostering cross-cultural connections and artistic exchange.
What do you think is the most valuable thing that the Collab 4 HySUST CCI project has brought to you?
It provides us with the perspective and time needed to focus on developing our initiative, enabling us to dive deeper into planning and structuring the growth of Radio PoDKrovlje. Additionally, it offers an excellent mentorship opportunity with Nicholas, whose guidance is truly inspiring.
From your experience participating in the Collab 4 Hy Sust CCI project, what advice would you give to organizations similar to yours?
To foster and expand cultural exchanges in the region, showcasing the richness of emerging independent Balkan art, music, storytelling traditions, and the spirit of collaboration. The aim is to build bridges between communities, promote mutual understanding and appreciation of shared cultural heritage, and create a space for open dialogue, creativity, and experimentation.
Would you like to add something?
We also recognize the importance of creating more opportunities to share knowledge, experiences, and skills with initiatives and communities across the Balkan region. These efforts would provide the time and space needed to collaboratively develop joint artistic programs, strengthen connections, and foster creative growth.
