Welcome to the DeuS Newsletter
We’re very excited to launch our project newsletter and look forward to bringing you the latest project updates, insights from the vocational educational institutions around Europe and news from the cultural and creative industries.
What are We All About
DeuS is a strategic European project that aims to co-create a European learning and training model in design, critical thinking, and entrepreneurship to find participatory, creative, and economic solutions to local challenges, unlocking the potential of the cultural sector Creative.
The project aims to:
- Develop a participated, innovative and sustainable cooperation model, an iterative process to identity local challenges and generate solutions for CCI professionals (VET providers, researchers and policymakers), based on the collective experience and knowledge of the Consortium, with a view to being shared with future EcoCs, EU cities and regions.
- Facilitate professional skills development for CCI Professionals with focus on improving the relevance of VET as a first choice for multi-discipline training, upskilling, and reskilling; encompassing transversal and entrepreneurial skills.
- Promote sustainability and transferability of the cooperation model and training solutions identified.
With partners from Austria, Denmark, Finland, Italy, Lithuania, Malta, Netherlands, Slovakia, and UK we’ll be covering a wide spectrum of the EU landscape and look forward to having you onboard for our journey.
You can follow along on our website www.deuscci.eu, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.

Have You Heard About the Open Design School?
Launched in 2016 the Open Design School is a laboratory of interdisciplinary experimentation and innovation and aims to introduce a more holistic, long-term attitude to the process of cultural investment, seeking to emphasise the benefits of skills creation and networking.
The DeuS project builds on the work of the Open Design School pilot initiative promoted under European Capital of Culture Matera 2019. To learn more about the Open Design School and the connection to DeuS you can read this article written by our Italian partner.
Challenges of the Cultural & Creative Industries
As the DeuS project unfolds, national workshops to map the challenges affecting the cultural and creative sector at a regional level are taking place. Read the results of our first workshop in Malta.
